The classroom music program follows the music strand of the new Australian Curriculum - The Arts. Often songs and activities a chosen to further enhance work being studies in the regular classroom.
Prep - Year 2 focuses on beat and rhythm activities, singing songs and using untuned percussion instruments such as hand drums, egg shakers and maracas. They begin the initial exploration of written music particularly using basic rhythms.
Year 3 & 4 further augment previous concepts, whilst learning to play tuned percussion instruments such as xylophones, metalaphones and glockenspiels.
Year 5 & 6 formalise the music theory concepts, learn to play recorders, with the reading and writing of music being integrated in their practical work
